Format: Hardcover
What did you like about the book? The chapters in this book (4-6 pages each) are broken down by location: the Arctic, North American forests, the ocean, the Amazon rainforest, a desert island, the Alps, the Arabian Desert, the African savannah, the Himalayas, the Australian outback, Antarctica, and even outer space and the future. Each chapter describes the region, what makes it so tough to survive there, tips to survive, and notes on what lives there (from animals to humans) as well as ways to help each area. The separate sections in each chapter draw the eye with similar demarcations, making it easy to find the information the reader wants. The illustrations are clear with informative detail, and eye-catching hues. The colorful backgrounds and cute animals will keep kids interested and the instructional diagrams (ie: how to build a shelter) are very helpful. Overall, this book is informative and visually appealing.
