What did you like about the book? Astrid, a little girl, and Eli, her dog are best friends. They have been together from the day Astrid’s parents  brought her home from the hospital as a baby. One day Astrid realized that Eli was getting old. Each of her birthday years meant so many more dog years. Astrid made a bucket list to do things with Eli before he got too old. From sliding down a slide, to riding a bike, Astrid made sure she did everything on her bucket list. What she didn’t realize, though, was that the only thing on Eli’s bucket list was to be with Astrid. This is a nice reminder for children and parents alike that time with our loved ones is the most precious gift of all.

Anything you didn’t like about it? I liked everything about this book.

Who should buy this book? Public libraries, elementary school libraries

Where would you shelve it? Picture books

Should we (librarians/readers) put this on the top of our “to read” piles? Yes
