Format: Hardcover

Rating: 1-5 (5 is an excellent or a Starred review) 4

What did you like about the book? Mole and Mouse are aboard their boat, trying to sleep at night. Mole just can’t sleep and Mouse accommodates his every request to help him sleep. From reading night-time stories, to getting an extra blanket, Mouse tries to help his friend sleep. When Mouse has patiently done everything, Mole finally falls asleep. And now it’s Mouse’s turn to say he can’t sleep. Mole snores so loudly that he keeps Mouse awake. The illustrations in this book are cute and child friendly. They show each of the friends sleeping with their stuffed animals and illustrate how lots of other children might have similar problems falling asleep.

Anything you didn’t like about it? I liked everything about this book.

To whom would you recommend this book?  Children ages 2-5

Who should buy this book? Public libraries, elementary school libraries, classroom teachers who can have discussions about problems children might have with sleeping.

Where would you shelve it? Picture books

Should we (librarians/readers) put this on the top of our “to read” piles? Yes

Reviewer’s Name, Library (or school), City and State: Sandra Pacheco, ESL teacher Washington, DC.
