Format: Paperback

Rating: 1-5:  (5 is an excellent or a Starred review) 3

Genre: Fairy tales

What did you like about the book? This volume, the first in the series, contains two stories set just after the end of the Disney movie and television series, “Tangled” and with all the same characters. The first, “What the Hair?” is the same story that aired on the television series, “Tangled the Series”. In it, Rapunzel and her best friend/handmaiden Cassandra keep a secret about Rapunzel’s hair from her boyfriend, Eugene. They visit a nearby wizard, Varian, for assistance, but his dangerous invention nearly gets them killed. The second story, “The Great Science Expo” focuses more on Cassandra. She is caught between her chance to have a first assignment as a palace guard versus being there as a friend to Varian when he needs her help.

Anything you didn’t like about it?  No.

To whom would you recommend this book?  Recommend to third to fifth grade girls who enjoy Disney and/or “Tangled”.

Who should buy this book? Elementary school libraries and public libraries.

Where would you shelve it?  Shelve with chapter books.

Should we (librarians/readers) put this on the top of our “to read” piles?  No.
