Rating: 1-5 (5 is an excellent or a Starred review) 5

Format: Hardcover

Genre: Fantasy / Humor

What did you like about the book?  A small herd of seven sheep are very unique: one has a cast on its leg, one wears a bobble hat, one has its wool parted on the side, a sheep who had braces and now wears a retainer, one has a snuffly nose (and must stay apart from the others so they don’t get sick), and two more.  Most of the flock are asleep when the one with the snuffly nose discovers that the shepherds who take care of them have disappeared!  The sheep with the bobble hat claims it saw a bright light “and suddenly a host of angels appeared in our field singing praises. I think I even heard trumpets-“ What happened to the shepherds?  Were they kidnapped by UFOs?  The sheep with the snuffly nose is so scared that it runs off – and meets a goat! The goat tells the sheep that the “glad tidings” are that a baby has been born and is wrapped in swaddling clothes and is lying in a manger…  After telling this news to the rest of the sheep they are all very excited and set off to visit the new baby.  And what happens next?

Anything you did not like about the book? Nope, perfect.

To whom would you recommend this book? The team of Hub and Mühle excelled in a previous fractured rendition of Noah’s Ark starring three penguins, Meet at the Ark at Eight.  Read it!

Who should buy this book? Public and elementary school libraries

Where would you shelve it? J Fiction

Should we (librarians) put this on the top of our “to read” piles? Yes!
