What did you like about the book? When Grandma and Timmy go to visit the place where Grandma once had her farm and raised her children they find a decaying barn and outhouses and a farmhouse in ruins. But Grandma has the journal she kept when she lived there bringing the once bountiful farm to life for Timmy. Together they imagine the cows, sheep, chickens, pigs and gardens and the wonderful life that was lived there. The digital illustrations are filled with color bringing the old rural life to full bloom.
Anything you did not like about the book? No.
To whom would you recommend this book? Garland’s predecessor, Grandpa’s Tractor, will pair well with this follow-up.

Where would you shelve it? Picture books
Should we (librarians) put this on the top of our “to read” piles? No.
