What did you like about the book? From the author of Vegetables in Underwear and Fruits in Suits comes a new board book that celebrates the joy of pajamas. A diverse group of adorable vegetables with big smiles showcases many kinds of pajamas for lots of different situations. Of course there are cozy and comfy pajamas, but some pajamas are for when it’s cold, and some are for when it’s hot. Some are mixed and some match. I especially like the pajamas “that are new to you”, where readers see a happy little eggplant in a ‘World Tour ’99’ tee shirt. Uncluttered pages offer just enough text and with the brightly colored little veggies to keep kids focused until the end.

Kids can point out the different kinds of vegetables shown, and caregivers can point out opposites, numbers and colors. Bedtime is the same for vegetables as for humans, in case you didn’t know, so there’s a comfortable reinforcement of the routine of brushing teeth, getting pajamas on, followed by stories and kisses. The last spread shows a group of renegade potatoes engaging in a pillow fight. This joyous romp is a lovely way to say good night to your little vegetable.
