What did you like about the book? Those who read The Art of the Scythe trilogy will more than welcome reading these thirteen shorter entries that explore Scythedom’s utopia. The stories contain times before, during and after Citra and Rowan’s tales in the trilogy.  Characters are explored in more depth. The world that Shusterman created becomes even more vivid revealing details not included in the previous three volumes. The expansion of the world and characters is sure to appeal to those who loved the stories.

Anything you did not like about the book?  No.

To whom would you recommend this book? Those who read the trilogy are the ready audience here.  Not meant to be a prequel, this expands the world of the Scythe bringing it into even greater focus.

Who should buy this book? Public, middle school libraries

Where would you shelve it? J/YA Fiction

Should we (librarians) put this on the top of our “to read” piles? For fans of the series, yes.
