What did you like about the book? A little boy has just moved. He gets on the school bus very, very unsure of himself as his parents wave goodbye. “The teachers will be different. I’ll have to make all new friends. I won’t even know where the bathroom is. This is the worst.” But wait a minute, I feel a lick on my face, a lick! The bus is full of dogs, young dogs! “I’m on the wrong bus!” He arrives at Leroy’s Puppy School. The principal is a dog. Classes include learning how to roll over and math: what does woof+woof =? woof! woof! The food? “blech”. The bathroom: a fire hydrant. “I miss my old school. I miss my friends. I want to go home.” Wait, the dogs come up to make him feel better – and then there is recess! Running, jumping, throwing balls, digging. This school is not so bad after all. Can’t wait for the next day. The next day? The wrong bus!!
The illustrations, drawn and colored in Procreate, are simple and colorful, dogs and boy outlined in black. All the dogs are different sizes, shapes and colors. The little boy is medium skinned (Latino?) with curly black hair. This is a gem that kids will love!!
