What did you like about the book? Poetic rhyming text creates a lilting song with which a new baby is welcomed home. Mother, father, siblings, grandparents, aunties, uncles, neighbors, and even a cat and dog, each joyfully welcomes the smiling baby. Family members are depicted with varied races, and whimsical shapes and hair configurations. The very appealing art, accentuating the hand drawn textures of paint, pencil and pastel, are in pleasing fresh colors. I can imagine the text set to music, and a family singing this joyful, happy book to their new little one.
