What did you like about the book? This text is a feast for the eyes! Each page is lovingly illustrated in pen, ink and watercolor and the details are exquisite! The reader is invited on an interactive tour of a green city. Every aspect of the community is explored with an eye toward ecology, conservation, and urban planning. Questions posed range from counting objects to searching for animals, identifying fruits and vegetables, and imagining what one might plant in the community garden. Perhaps the most important question of all is: “Can you dream of a green tomorrow?” The end matter presents additional ways that we can be green in our own homes. As an added bonus, the characters and families presented are diverse and representative of many communities young readers live in.

Young children will enjoy the seek and find aspect of the book, while elementary aged children will appreciate the conversation about what makes a community green, and how they can be a part of the movement. This would be a perfect book for a teacher to place under a document camera allowing the class to engage in discussions about its important themes and concepts.
