What did you like about the book? It’s hard to believe that this is Alexander’s first foray into picture book writing, although she’s a youth services librarian by trade, so it’s no wonder she has found the perfect recipe! This text has it all – an intriguing creature that fascinates many children, stunning digitally rendered illustrations, and a delightful narrative that details the history, adaptations and lifestyle of the Anglerfish in a way that surpasses other texts in the genre. End matter provides a useful glossary along with pictorial representations of a variety of Anglerfish species. A robust index supports children who may read the text for research purposes. Children will appreciate the tenacity of this resilient creature and cheer her on once they have experienced her trials and tribulations through the combined talents of Alexander and Fogg.
