Rating: 1- 5 (5 is excellent or a Starred review) 4

Format:  Board Book

What did you like about the book?   Readers lift-the-flaps to reveal animals in 4 different environments: the Asian tundra, the Antarctic, the Eurasian mountains, and the Arctic. Each double-page spread has at least 5 flaps.  The final double page spread is a nighttime view of the northern lights.  Readers will learn one fact about each animal that appears, for example,  “Siberian flying squirrels use their extra skin to glide through the air.”  This is a good choice for younger readers interested in animals and habitats.

Anything you didn’t like about it? No

To whom would you recommend this book?  Readers who love animals will enjoy this lift-the-flap title.

Who should buy this book?  Public libraries and elementary school libraries

Where would you shelve it? Picture books

Should we (librarians/readers) put this at the top of our “to read” piles?  No
