What did you like about the book?   Three dinosaurs (Spike, Rory and Clawdie) try to help Santa save Christmas when his elves are sick.  Unfortunately, the dinosaurs seem more interested in playing with the toys and being very noisy.  Santa steps in with an idea and the three tinysaurs pull his sleigh and deliver a loud, roaring dinosaur toy to every child.  The illustrations are bright and cartoon-like and will appeal to readers, while the rhyming text reads aloud well.  A fun holiday book for dinosaur enthusiasts.

Anything you didn’t like about it? No

To whom would you recommend this book?  This is a book for readers who enjoy dinosaurs and Christmas stories.  Pair it with Jane Yolen’s How Do Dinosaurs Say Merry Christmas, Santa Rex by Molly Idle and Dinosaur Christmas by Jerry Pallotta for a fun story time mashup of dinosaurs and Christmas.

Who should buy this book?  Public and elementary school libraries

Where would you shelve it? Picture books

Should we (librarians/readers) put this at the top of our “to read” piles?  No
