What did you like about the book?   Baby Turtle and mom spend the day together in this sweet tale of familial love and togetherness.  The rhyming text flows perfectly for reading aloud and the bright illustrations complement the text.  The fun die-cut pages advance the story as readers see the mother sheltering Baby from the rain and giving Baby a piggyback ride up a high hill.  This is a reassuring story about the love between a parent and child: “Wherever you are, wherever you go, Baby, I’ll always love you so.”

Anything you didn’t like about it? No

To whom would you recommend this book?  This is a sweet book for children that illustrates a loving relationship. A perfect one to pair with Margaret Wise Brown’s classic The Runaway Bunny.

Who should buy this book?  Public libraries and elementary school libraries

Where would you shelve it? Picture books

Should we (librarians/readers) put this at the top of our “to read” piles?  No
