Rating: 1-5 (5 is an excellent or a Starred review) 4

Format: Paperback

Genre: Humor

What did you like about the book? Nate is still trying to get a girlfriend with his usual amount of success.  Friend Teddy offers to give Nate a haircut so they can do something else with the money and ….Nate turns up bald!  While being an intern at Klassic Komix Nate captures a shoplifter who is a fellow student who bullies him all the time.  A longer story concerns Nate, his friends and Dee Dee as lead vocalist for their group Enslave the Mollusk as they try to make money by busking.

There is the usual amount of fun to be had as one reconnects with old friends.  Peirce knows his characters well affording them movement and facial expressions that more than complement the dialog.  The contents of this book appeared in newspapers as comic strips from February 26, 2017 to September 2, 2017.

Anything you did not like about the book?  No.

To whom would you recommend this book? To the hundreds (thousands?) of big Nate fans.

Who should buy this book?  Public and elementary school libraries

Where would you shelve it? Graphic novels or 741.5 with comics

Should we (librarians) put this on the top of our “to read” piles?  Only if you are a big Nate fan.
