What did you like about the book? This is a sweet, fun story.  Squirrels Gramps and Little Bee are at the Farmer’s Market enjoying the apple samples.  When Gramps suggests picking one apple to take home, Little Bee chooses from the bottom of the pile and all the apples come tumbling down cascading Gramps into the truck full of apples that then drives off.  Little Bee enlists the help of squirrels Norma and Belly to save Gramps who finds himself on an assembly line that is making apple pies!  The three squirrels smuggle themselves onto a school bus full of children going to Crunchy Acres Apple Farm.  Soon they find themselves in the same predicament as Gramps!

The cartoon-style water-color illustrations, outlined in black with speech bubbles and drawn with pencils, sumi brushes and sumi ink on watercolor paper are perfect for this fast-moving, fun tale.

Anything you did not like about the book?  No.

To whom would you recommend this book? Those who enjoyed the first book starring these squirrels, Donut Feed the Squirrels, will definitely enjoy this second outing.

Who should buy this book? Public libraries and lower elementary school grades

Where would you shelve it? Graphic novels

Should we (librarians) put this on the top of our “to read” piles?  No.
