What did you like about the book?   Our friend Bear is very excited about something and is having a very hard time waiting in this new adventure.  Readers will quickly realize that Bear and friends are planning a birthday party. The rhyming text perfectly captures how hard it is to wait: “Bear frets and he fiddles. He wiggles and he twiddles, since the bear can’t wait.”  Bear rushes to help frost the cake and ends up squishing it flat.  Luckily there is time to bake another, even better than before.  Finally, the guest of honor, Hare, arrives at the surprise party full of cake and presents “And the hare can’t wait!” The illustrations, rendered in acrylic paint, are full of color and expression. This is a fun and reassuring book to share with children who have a hard time dealing with anticipation and excitement. Bear is back for another wonderful adventure.
