What did you like about the book? The author states in his introduction that this collection is made up of some familiar and not-so-familiar rhymes. He also encourages readers, “To sing the words or make up actions, to show how sounds, rhythm and emotion can be conveyed through the whole body.” Included with familiar classics such as “Miss Mary Mack” and “Engine, Engine, Number Nine” are a variety of less known rhymes that are sure to please readers. The colorful watercolor illustrations bring the rhymes to life with a variety of animals, toys and children of varied ethnicities. The text is presented in a variety of colors and sizes which adds to the fun. This is sure to delight fans of rhythm and rhyme who are seeking some new verses.
