What did you like about the book?  Twinkle the fairy and her friends want pets more than anything. Fairy Godmother decides to make their wishes come true.  She asks each girl to cast a spell to obtain their desired creature. Unfortunately, Twinkle’s spell isn’t quite up to par, and as a result, she ends up with a little dragon rather than the fluffy and cute creature of her dreams. Fairy Godmother assures her that with a bit of training, Scruffy will be ready for Fairy Pet Day. A determined Twinkle puts Scruffy through the paces, but the dragon will not obey. Not to be deterred, Twinkle gives the rambunctious dragon a bath and dresses him up in a bow, hoping that he will win the prettiest pet. On the way, he finds a mud puddle and jinxes all chances of winning, or so Twinkle thinks. When the best-trained portion of the show arrives, Scruffy pulls out all the stops and makes Twinkle proud as he wins the contest. Twinkle realizes that with a bit of faith and love anything is possible. The brightly colored, sparkly illustrations add a magical touch to a delightful story. Each page is full of detailed watercolor imagery that invites the reader into the story and provides a whimsical flair to a fun and engaging text.
