What did you like about the book? Wallace and his friends Spud (square head) and Amelia are back. Henry’s intricate and watercolor illustrations perfectly complement the zany and oh-so-recognizable thinking and actions of childhood. Wallace breaks his arm skateboarding on the beach appearing with his stiff arm in a cast, he plays Spin-N-Barf, his pranks backfire, he heckles his own teammates. School picture day: the photographer says “say Cheeeeese”, Wallace replies “what kind? There’s a bazillion different cheeses – which one?”
This is a very funny book starring the irrepressible Wallace and his exact-opposite friend, Spud. Back matter includes How to make a pinecone birdfeeder, Happy Rocks and a Papier-mache mask
Anything you did not like about the book? No.
To whom would you recommend this book? Those who have ready other Wallace the Brave books, will enjoy this one just as much, maybe even more! But also fans of Big Nate by Lincoln Peirce.
Who should buy this book? Public and elementary school libraries
Where would you shelve it? Graphic novels/comic books
Should we (librarians) put this on the top of our “to read” piles? Only if you are one of the many Will Henry/ Wallace the Brave fans.
