Rating: 1-5 (5 is an excellent or a Starred review) 5
Genre: Picture book
What did you like about the book? I like that there are many suggestions about the many different ways kids can need help calming down and loosening up. Movement, breathing, taking things one step at a time when things seem overwhelming. Adorable illustrations of cute, emotive animals help soften a difficult subject and help make an important lesson cute and fun. I find myself needing reminders like these so parents could get some helpful tips too. The strong durable pages should hold up nicely over many uses.
Anything you did not like about the book? No, I can’t think of anything I didn’t like about this book
To whom would you recommend this book? Anyone with or responsible for children. I feel like, in these trying times, we and our kids can all use a little help keeping calm and not getting overwhelmed.
Who should buy this book? parents, libraries, schools, counselors
Where would you shelve it? If a picture book area has a self help section that would be great, or even better, on display where everyone who comes in can see it.
Should we (librarians) put this on the top of our “to read” piles? Yes! Especially now!
