Genre: Picture Book

What did you like about the book? I was laughing aloud when I was reading this book because I finally found something to help me pronounce all the dinosaur names! This cute book takes puns to a whole new level. The entire book features dinosaurs expressing sentiments of love and affection for their baby. However, the expressions contain some aspect of the dinosaur’s name. For example, “Wrap-tor arms around me, with you I’ll always stay” (velociraptor) and “We make the perfect pair-asaurolophys, I’ll forever feel this way” (parasaurolophus). There are twelve dinosaurs featured and each is completely adorable–nothing big and scary in this book. The colors in the illustrations are bright and there are hearts scattered about on every page–perfect for Valentine’s Day.

Anything you did not like about the book. Nothing

To whom would you recommend this book? This book is perfect for children between the ages of birth and three years old. It would be a special hit with any children that love dinosaurs. I also think children will enjoy the play on words throughout the book. It might be their first exposure to this kind of thing.

Who should buy this book? Public libraries, preschools, daycare centers, anyone who works with children between the ages of birth and three years old.

Where would you shelve it? Board Book

Should we (librarians) put this on the top of our “to read” piles? Yes, a cute book about dinosaurs as opposed to the more scary books.
