Format: Hardcover

Rating:  1-5 (5 is an excellent or a Starred review) 3

Genre: Picture Book

What did you like about the book? The usual cast of young dinosaurs, Mazy, Tiny, Rocky, and Bill are back for more adventures-usually involving hiding from Gigantosaurus. In this story, they are all enjoying a day playing in the hot waters of a geyser when they start to hear the rumbles of Gigantosaurus approaching. As they begin to run, the ground creaks and splits and creates a large crevice between them and safety from Gigantosaurus. Different attempts are made to cross the divide, eventually using their catapult skills to fly over-just in time to avoid Gigantosaurus.

The story and illustrations are based on the Gigantosaurus TV series and this includes colorful, digitally created illustrations.

Anything you did not like about the book. Nothing in particular, it just did not keep me entertained. I have enjoyed some of the other Gigantosaurus books, but not this one as much.

To whom would you recommend this book? Perfect for children between the ages of four and seven years old, especially if they enjoy the TV series.

Who should buy this book? I would not recommend this book for purchase unless libraries have patrons interested in the TV series and they think this book would be of interest.

Where would you shelve it? Picture Books

Should we (librarians) put this on the top of our “to read” piles? No
