What did you like about the book?  No one is ever too young or too small to start learning and practicing yoga, including a mouse! This was a heartwarming story to read. We meet Little Mouse who has a friend Opus who is a cat. Together they go on an adventure at the Zoo. Initially you think it is simply a story about doing yoga poses, however this book is so much more than that.  Readers learn that sometimes when you are afraid you can take some time to practice quieting your mind. This is an excellent social-emotional learning skill. When Little Mouse ran into the lion’s den the lion roared and the first thing Little Mouse thought to do was to begin meditating on a phrase he learned “quiet the mind”. This book is an exceptional way to introduce yoga to much younger children who may not be able to follow along with yoga moves.

Anything you didn’t like about it? No this was a great story.

To whom would you recommend this book? Children ages 2 -6

Who should buy this book? Public libraries, daycare centers

Where would you shelve it ?  Picture books

Should we (librarians/readers) put this on the top of our “to read” piles?  Yes
