Format: Paperback
Rating: 1- 5 (5 is excellent or a Starred review) 4
What did you like about the book? Children who love drawing will love the easy to follow directions to create some wonderful winter and Christmas creatures. Beyond Santa, reindeer, Christmas trees and angels, there are lots of animals to draw including hedgehogs, cats, and llamas, along with magical creatures such as fairies and winter favorites including snowmen and gingerbread houses. Each double page spread has a 5 step instruction on the left side and room to practice on the right. The first four steps are illustrated in black, while the final product is depicted in color. This will keep artists busy during the holiday season and beyond.
Anything you didn’t like about it? The drawback for libraries would be if artists decide to draw within the book.
To whom would you recommend this book? Hand this to readers who love to draw and doodle. This would make a lovely gift book for little artists.
Who should buy this book? Public libraries and elementary school libraries
Where would you shelve it? 743.6
Should we (librarians/readers) put this at the top of our “to read” piles? No
