What did you like about the book? Readers are invited to take a trip around the world to see and hear a variety of creatures. Each double page spread introduces a habitat along with the animals that live there. The nine double page spreads are filled with beautifully colored illustrations of the wildlife along with short informational paragraphs on each. A “Press Here” button on each spread allows the reader to hear the sound of one of the animals including a lemur, an elephant seal, a bellbird, sooty terns, a Komodo dragon, polar bears, a humpback whale, marine iguanas, and a tiger. A Map of the World illustrates the locations of the habitats. Includes an index, and a final page “Animals Under Threat” that gives the endangered status and the threats to six of the animals whose sounds are heard. Adults will be happy that the book sound box has an on-off switch. The batteries can be replaced and for safety may only be accessed by using a screw driver.
Anything you didn’t like about it? Several of the “Press Here” buttons are located close to two of the animals. This makes it hard to discover which animal is making the sound unless the reader looks at the back page.
