What did you like about the book: This is a delightful ‘Press and Listen’ board book. A classic story in a new format. “Uh-oh! Grass!” You can hear the ‘long, wavy grass go swishy swashy’. “Uh-oh! A river!” Listen to the ‘deep, cold river go splash splosh!’ “Uh-oh! Mud!” The thick, oozy mud goes ‘squelch squerch! “Uh-oh! A forest!” In the big, dark forest you can hear a ‘stumble trip!’ Then as we ‘Tiptoe! Tiptoe! Tiptoe! We come upon A BEAR and hear his loud growl. ‘We’re never going on a bear hunt again’ and back to bed to hide under the covers we go. A great sensory story that is sure to entertain our little friends. I loved it!
The back cover provides instructions on the battery replacement.
Anything you didn’t like about it? No. It took me a few button pushes to hear the sounds and realize you need to go to the back cover and turn the sound “on”.
To whom would you recommend this book? For anyone who loves adventure stories. Truly a fun read aloud with little ones to talk about what you might see and the sounds you might hear on a hike. They will go crazy to push the buttons and see what is next.
