What did you like about the book? This standalone title in the Greenglass House series travels back in time to the beginning of the story. Twelve-year old Lucy Bluecrowne has grown up aboard her father’s ship The Left-Handed Fate, but after she is injured in a sea battle, he wants her safe ashore. Captain Bluecrowne has built Greenglass House for Lucy, her stepmother Xiaoming and her half-brother Liao. Lucy is heartbroken to be away from her beloved ship and crew and feels she cannot survive on land. Meanwhile a time-traveler named Trigemine is seeking a magical “conflagrationeer” and the trail leads to Liao, a young boy who loves fireworks. When Liao is kidnapped, Lucy must come to his rescue. Along the way, Lucy realizes the secret her stepmother is hiding as well as the secrets of Greenglass House. Swashbuckling adventure, mystical magic and mystery make this a must-read. Readers will eagerly await the next story in this highly recommended series.
