What did you like about the book?  Lennon & McCartney’s words reach a new generation in this warm and charming picture book. Though the lyrics are familiar to many, the illustrations are what makes this book wonderful. They capture the surroundings and feelings of two young girls becoming friends. They learn the true meaning of getting by with a friend. The girls play together, eat lunch together, share life with each other and learn what it really means to love a friend. When one of them has to move far away, they learn how to survive a real and meaningful relationship at a distance.

Anything you did not like about the book.  No.

To whom would you recommend this book?  School and public libraries, teachers, school counselors, parents and grandparents.

Who should buy this book?  Elementary school and public libraries. Preschool and daycare centers, anyone who works with children.

Where would you shelve it?  Picture Books

Should we (librarians) put this on the top of our “to read” piles?  Yes, it’s a keeper.
