What did you like about the book? What a delightful book! Fashioned as a how-to manual, the story follows an adorable brown-skinned girl with round pigtails as she tries to show how to give a cat a bath. Her rascally kitty, white with a big pink nose, clearly is not down for the demonstration. Short, easy to read narrative text, with speech bubbles on the part of the girl, give the reader a comic, pratfall-filled story. The ending is precious – the girl decides to sit while her cat licks himself clean. The art, ink with fresh graphic colors, is great, and small readers will love searching for the kitty as he hides from his girl.

Anything you didn’t like about it? No

To whom would you recommend this book?  It reminds me a bit of Laura Numeroff’s If You Give Your Mouse a Cookie. Perfect for cat-loving 4-8 year olds.

Who should buy this book? Elementary school and public libraries

Where would you shelve it ? Picture books

Should we (librarians/readers) put this on the top of our “to read” piles? Yes
