What did you like about the book?  Nina hates Slayers, especially after the infamous Buffy causes her father’s death.  Raised with her twin sister Artemis, Nina (a nickname for Athena), has always struggled with the fact that she comes second in her mother’s eyes.  The twins attend Watcher’s Academy and Artemis trains to follow in their parent’s footsteps as a Watcher, while Nina trains as a medic. But when Buffy destroys all the magic in the world, Nina becomes the newest and last Slayer.  The novel closely aligns with the television series Buffy the Vampire Slayer and the spin-off Angel.  Nina struggles with becoming something she has always hated and still finds herself at odds with her mother.  Even worse, her secret crush, Leo, has returned to be her personal Watcher. Filled with lots of action, family dynamics, girl power and a bit of romance, this is sure to be a popular pick.

Anything you didn’t like about it? No
