Format: Paperback ARC

Rating:  1-5 (5 is an excellent or a Starred review) 5

What did you like about the book? “Twinkle, twinkle, little star, I know exactly what you are.  Opaque ball of hot dense gas, million times our planet’s mass, looking small because you’re far, I know exactly what you are.”  Illustrations upon dark night skies illuminate the rhyming text explaining all about the composition, activity and life history of stars.  This is fascinating in its simplicity. Included at the end is “ A Little More about What Stars Are”.

Anything you did not like about the book?  No.

To whom would you recommend this book?  This is a book that whets the imagination of the reader encouraging her to look further, to gain and explore the nature of stars.

Who should buy this book?  Public and elementary libraries

Where would you shelve it?  Juvenile non-fiction

Should we (librarians) put this on the top of our “to read” piles?  No, unless you would like an easy-to-understand overview of stars.
