What did you like about the book?   William Shakespeare’s classic tragedy is brought to life in this manga adaptation.  The tale of the star-crossed lovers is made accessible to today’s readers, especially those who love manga.  The title pairs Shakespeare’s original text in word bubbles and the illustrations make the action and plot easy to comprehend.  

Anything you didn’t like about it? No

To whom would you recommend this book?  This could be used as an introduction to Shakespearean plays.  Those reading the play could utilize this as a companion read.

Who should buy this book?  Public Libraries and high school libraries

Where would you shelve it? Manga

Should we (librarians/readers) put this at the top of our “to read” piles?  Yes, if you enjoy graphic novel adaptations of classics.
