What did you like about the book?  Miki is a little otter who loves snuggling on her mother’s tummy.  When Mama goes hunting, Miki befriends another otter pup named Amak.  The two little otters hold paws and stay together while their mothers hunt.  One day a huge storm arises, but Miki and Amak keep hold of one another and even reach out to more otters to form a “raft of otters.”  Their mothers find them safe and sound and Mama says, “We all need someone’s paw to hold when the big waves come.” This is a story about friendship and how friends can help one get through the rough patches, both literally and figuratively.  The author’s signature acrylic illustrations are filled with the blues and greens of the ocean.

Anything you didn’t like about it?  No
