Rating: 1-5 (5 is an excellent or a Starred review) 4
Genre: animal fiction
What did you like about the book? In this third story starring Timo the rabbit and his friends Suki the squirrel, Bogs the frog, Hedgewick the hedgehog and Rae the badger, Suki comes up with the idea of going camping which none of them have done before. Bogs will be in charge of music, Hedgewick will be chef and Rae will be the engineer. Timo is very apprehensive about this so he does the smart thing: he goes to the library to find out what one needs to know about camping. He takes notes from each chapter, which come in very handy when they are all out in the wilderness. This is an excellent choice to display teamwork, to learn about camping and canoeing and having fun. Suki is also confronted about his teasing, which he did not realize hurt his friends’ feelings. Each of the five friends has their own separate skills. A simple, short story perfect for beginning chapter book readers. There are bright, detailed digitally created illustrations on every page.
