What did you like about the book? I would count this as one of my favorite Pendergast mysteries. A headless body of a woman is found in an old warehouse. Soon two more headless bodies turn up. Where are the heads? All of the dead persons had been uber wealthy and horrible abusive human beings. Thus, a reporter comes up with the theory that someone is targeting nasty rich people. Pendergast and Lieutenant D’Agosta are working together on this one. The story reaches the point where the killer challenges Pendergast to a cat and mouse game which Pendergast Must win or D’Agosta will be blown up…. The action is constant throughout the book filled with typical Pendergast behavior. The evil persons in this story mirror the present political situation in the U.S. government.  Pendergast and company is once again brought to life through the narration of Rene’ Auberjonois.

Anything you did not like about this book? No.

To whom would you recommend this book? To fans of Preston & Child and Pendergast.

Who should buy this book? Public libraries and upper high school grade libraries

Where would you shelve it? Audiobooks, Mystery

Should we (librarians) put this on the top of our “to read” piles? Yes.
