Rating: 1-5 (5 is an excellent or a Starred review) 3
What did you like about the book? Little Alien is fighting a bad cold and his family try to do all they can to help alleviate his symptoms, including his dog Mars Rover. Unlike humans, Little Alien has two throats, five ears and three noses that make his cold all the worse. Young readers will sympathize with Little Alien and appreciate his family’s efforts to help him feel better.
Anything you didn’t like about it? The story is unique, younger readers may need help understanding some of the alien illness fighting techniques and understanding why the dog Mars Rover is so upset over Little Alien’s illness.
To whom would you recommend this book? For readers who like alien stories or for readers who are having a sick day.
Who should buy this book? Public libraries
Where would you shelve it ? Picture books
Should we (librarians/readers) put this on the top of our “to read” piles? Not necessarily, for readers curious about aliens and how they fight an illness.
