Alex Rider: Never Say Die – Anthony Horowitz, Philomel, (9781524739300), 2017

Format: Hardcover

Rating: 1-5 (5 is an excellent or a Starred review) 5

Genre: Mystery/Adventure

What did you like about the book? Scorpia Rising was published in 2011 and it was supposed to be the end (There did follow another book, Russian Roulette, but it was a prequel to the first book, Stormbreaker)= but it’s not; Alex is back in a new story so filled with excitement, action and adventure, it’s surprising the book des not explode. In the last mission Alex undertook he watched as his friend and nanny, Jack Starbright, was blown up when her car exploded. Alex, now living and recovering with friends in San Francisco and attending high school, receives a text that just says “ALEXX I’M AL” and Alex just knows it is from Jack and she was about to say “I’m alive”. Alex must find and save Jack. He starts in Cairo where he and Jack were both imprisoned, onto France and over to England. He becomes involved in a new mission, Steel Claw, which is being orchestrated by gangster identical twins, the Grimaldi’s. The action, the danger, the near-death experiences and Alex’s incredible skills in outwitting the most dastardly criminals make this an absolute page-turner.

Anything you did not like about this book? No.
