What did you like about the book? This is a lovely, lyrical retelling of the nativity story.  The text invites the reader right into the story:  “See this small gray donkey, this long dusty road, this promising star.” Later the reader is invited to use other senses:  “Feel the frost on this clear Bethlehem night,” “Hear the cattle lowing….”  The luminous digital illustrations perfectly complement the tone of the text.  A beautiful addition to the story of the nativity.

Anything you didn’t like about it?  No

Where would you shelve it? Holiday Picture Books

Should we (librarians/readers) put this at the top of our “to read” piles?    No
