What did you like about the book?  An unseen narrator instructs a little girl on what to do when her elephant has the sniffles.  The main objective is to keep the elephant from sneezing.  The little girl puts the elephant to bed with lots of pillows and blankets.  She gives him his favorite toy, a stuffed version of the lion from the author’s When Your Lion Needs a Bath. Although the elephant gets a little demanding, all goes well, until the little girl decides to play dress up with a feather boa.  Of course, the elephant sneezes and “Oh dear. When your elephant has the sniffles, you might just end up with them too!”  The bright pastel-toned illustrations on a bright white background are full of child appeal.  The little brown-skinned girl with her puffy ponytails and the pink cheeked elephant are very expressive.  This one is sure to be a favorite read aloud.
