What did you like about the book?  The story of The Leaf Men leads the reader into the magical world of the garden where bugs rally to save a sick rosebush and the old lady who cares for it.  The story has a classic quality based on the illustrations and storyline.  It is a fast paced story with numerous characters and an inspiring message at the end.

Anything you didn’t like about it? Overall I enjoyed this story  although I felt the characters, who quickly entered and exited the story, could have been elaborated upon.

To whom would you recommend this book?  Libraries with WIlliam Joyce collections.

Who should buy this book? Children’s departments and elementary school libraries

Where would you shelve it ? Picture books

Should we (librarians/readers) put this on the top of our “to read” piles? Yes, especially for William Joyce fans
