Format: Hardcover, picture book
Rating: 1-5 (5 is an excellent or a Starred review): 4
What did you like about the book? Rodzilla is a story told with a great deal of kid humor that the reader will appreciate and connect with. The scenes of Rodzilla destroying the city of Megaopolis lead to a surprising ending that will have readers going back to the beginning to read over again. Most of the illustrations are double page spreads to fit the monstrous size of Rodzilla as he destroys all that crosses his path and add to the humor of the story.
Anything you didn’t like about it? No.
To whom would you recommend this book? Libraries looking to add humorous stories to the collection that kids might be able to see themselves in, or a younger sibling. The book has a similar feel as Are We There Yet? by Dan Santat.
Who should buy this book? Children’s departments and elementary school libraries
Where would you shelve it ? Picture Books
Should we (librarians/readers) put this on the top of our “to read” piles? Yes, it is a book that will provide a chuckle or two.
