What did you like about the book? In this sixth title in the Animal Rescue Center series, a lost duckling takes center stage. Ella and Caleb help their parents run the Animal Magic Rescue Center, and one day when Ella is walking one of the shelter dogs, the dog startles a family of ducks. Ella is particularly taken with one of the ducklings, so when it disappears, she is determined to find it and assure its safety. Meanwhile, other animals come and go from the shelter including a Shetland pony named Rosie. Soft, detailed pencil illustrations add warmth to an already sweet story, which should please animal lovers very much.

Anything you didn’t like about it? No.

To whom would you recommend this book?  Read Alikes? Recommend to early chapter book readers and animal lovers. Also recommend The Puppy Place series by Ellen Miles and Holly Webb’s Pet Rescue Adventures series.

Who should buy this book? Elementary schools and public libraries should find this series popular.

Where would you shelve it?  Early chapter books.

Should we (librarians/readers) put this on the top of our “to read” piles?  No.
