Bathtime for Little Rabbit – by Jorg Muhle

Bathtime for Little Rabbit – by Jorg Muhle, Gecko Press, 9781776571376, 2017

Format: Board book

Rating: 1-5 (5 is a starred review)  5

What did you like about the book? This wonderful interactive book involves children in the book and reading process without flaps, windows, pop-ups or pull-outs. The simplicity of this book is one of its best features. Little Rabbit is ready for a bath and he needs your help. First you call him, put some shampoo on his ears, and cover his eyes when water gets on his face. Calling on a child’s imagination this book lets the child interact with the rabbit as the rabbit gets ready for his bath. The board book is sturdy and the pictures are minimal so very young children will be able to read and understand this book over and over.

Anything you didn’t like about it? I liked everything about the book.

To whom would you recommend this book?  This book is recommended for very young toddlers, ages 1-3. It is a must-read for anyone who has read Muhle’s other book, “Tickle My Ears.”

Who should buy this book? Public libraries, day care centers

Where would you shelve it ? picture books

Should we (librarians/readers) put this on the top of our “to read” piles?  yes
