What did you like about the book? Mercer Mayer’s classically humorous and adorable illustrations will delight kids and parents alike.  This book details the things a child can do when they get bigger and grow up, and specifically mentions starting first grade.  This title highlights being nice and helpful to younger children.  Mayer features a boy and girl in the story yet remains gender neutral in the activities they choose.

Anything you didn’t like about it? No.

To whom would you recommend this book? Fans of the Little Critter series, Mo Willems, Berenstain Bears series, Bird Books by Jeremy Tankard.

Who should buy this book? Public Libraries and Daycares

Where would you shelve it ? Children’s Room

Should we (librarians/readers) put this on the top of our “to read” piles? Sure! It’s a fun read-aloud for the preschool set.  It can also help parents teach children about kindness, prepare for school readiness and shows that gender doesn’t define the activities or occupations we choose.
