What did you like about the book? Hey, you. Yes, you!  Do you think you can win a staring contest?  Ready… GO!

Don’t Blink has a simple storyline with a fantastic cast of creatures.  One little girl challenges the reader to a staring contest and soon the entire jungle wants to join in.  Readers will fight to keep their eyes open not just to win, but to take in the wonderful site of so much fun on one page.  The illustrations are drawn by hand and digitally rendered with a serene combination of colors, giving the book both a clear focus and a welcoming feel.

Anything you didn’t like about it? Nothing!  This was fantastic from start to finish and had so much on each page that kids will beg to have it read again!

To whom would you recommend this bookRecommended for preschool children through lower elementary.  Children who have enjoyed interactive books in the past (such as Don’t Push the Button or Press Here) will love this latest opportunity to connect with a book and have a great giggle.

Who should buy this book? Childrens’ library collections (public and school)

Where would you shelve it ? Picture book collection

Should we (librarians/readers) put this on the top of our “to read” piles? Please do!  Storytimes will get a big kick out of this title.  I blinked, so I extend the challenge to the next willing librarian.
