Rating: 1- 5 (5 is excellent or a Starred review) 4
What did you like about the book? The narrator of this book tries to convince a young boy named Edgar to revise his bad opinion of bees. The narrator tells Edgar about the various types of bees, their anatomy, their history in the world, how they make honey and their impact on the food chain. Fear of bees is covered in a page that describes how bees sting to protect themselves: “Bees do sting sometimes…but not because they’re mean.” The book’s end pages are illustrated with a variety of bees and includes information on each. A lot of information is presented in an enjoyable format with bright cartoon like illustrations.
