Genre: Picture Book
What did you like about the book? Little monster is not ready for bed because all the parts of him are not tired yet. Big Monster uses this to advantage in order to get Little Monster all tired out. First Little monster says, “‘My knees aren’t tired. My knees have lots of bounces in them.’ Big Monster smiled, ‘Show me!’” Each body part has some action left from a bottom that wants to “wiggle-jiggle” to a tail that needs to “swing, swing, swing.” This is a fun way to have children get all their wiggles out before tucking them into bed. The brightly-colored monsters are very friendly and cuddly in appearance and Little Monster’s exuberance catapults him across the pages. In addition to the main text, which is told through dialogue, lots of action words appear throughout. By the time Little Monster tells us his eyes are not tired and he begins to open and shut them, little readers would be all tuckered out.
Anything you didn’t like about it? No
To whom would you recommend this book? This is the perfect bedtime book to read aloud to a child who is not tired. It would be a fun addition to bedtime-themed story times as the children can get all their wiggles out.

Should we (librarians/readers) put this at the top of our “to read” piles? No
