Migloo’s Weekend – William Bee

   Migloo’s Weekend – William Bee, Candlewick, (9780763689919), 2016

Format: Hardcover picture book

Rating: 1-5 (5 is an excellent or a Starred review) 5

What did you like about the book? Migloo is a little brown and white dog who lives in a town peopled with very interesting characters not unlike Richard Scarry’s Busytown. Migloo wakes up early and hungry on Saturday morning wanting to go to Mrs. Luigi’s new café for breakfast. Unfortunately many in the town have the same idea: the line is very long. So they head to Sunnytown Farm and onto Sunnytown Museum and the cinema. Sunday is filled with even more fun and adventures. Every two-page spread has hidden items to find that makes the travel even more interesting.

Anything you did not like about this book? Not a thing.

To whom would you recommend this book? Those who enjoyed Migloo’s Day will enjoy this one just as much. Also a good choice for Waldo fans I Spy books.

Who should buy this book? Public and elementary school libraries and day-care centers

Where would you shelve it? Picture books

Should we (librarians) put this on the top of our “to read” piles? You will definitely want to place this book into the hands of children who like Migloo.
